Week 8 pics!

Here they are! The Week 8 photos of Rave. She sure has gotten bigger this past week...

Yup! More than one!

Rave and I went to the vet's today for our pre-whelping x-ray. I can tell y'all that we have more than one puppy and less than 10. I'm not going to post the x-ray as I don't want to give anyone a leg up in the "Puppy pool". It was very neat to be able to see the skulls, spines and ribs. :-D

So, here's the deal. Submit your guess for the puppy pool - include the date and time of whelping and the number of pups you believe Rave will have. The winner gets a Timmys or Starbucks (your choice) gift card.

I'll post new pics of Rave tonight. The puppy whelping window is anywhere from March 20th to March 27th.

One FAT Border Collie!

Can you guess how many puppies are in there? Here are a few pics of Rave taken as she approaches the 7 week mark in her pregnancy.

We definitely have puppies!

Palpation by my vet concluded that there is at least one (1) puppy in there. I sure hope there's more than one! We have an x-ray scheduled for March 17th to count skulls. Rave is due somewhere between March 20th and March 25th. It's getting close!

I REALLY need to start thinking about a whelping box...

I hate waiting...

As February comes to a close and Rave reaches the halfway mark in her pregnancy, I have come to the realization that I hate waiting. :-)

What can I say? I'm not the most patient person in the world. LOL! This coming Monday, we go back to the vet's for a palpation to try to confirm whether she's pregnant and how many puppies might be in there. If the palp is inconclusive, we'll schedule an x-ray in order to count skulls. ;-)

As for Rave, she's doing just fine. She's eating well (though she did spend a week demanding fish!). She's also bored and is not hesitating to tell me that she does not approve of the forced inactivity. She really is a Princess... ;-)

I need to start thinking about a whelping box...

Three weeks down...

We've hit the three week mark since Rave was bred. Still don't know if there are any pups in there yet. We have an appointment booked in a couple of weeks for an x-ray and we'll know for sure then.

Rave is as happy and cuddly as ever. Though she does tell me that she's bored. ;-)

As soon as we confirm puppies, I'll let y'all know for sure. In the meantime, you'll just have to keep those fingers crossed just like I'm doing!

One week down, eight to go...

Well, one week has past and I am anxiously waiting for the next three weeks to go by. I'm looking forward to being able to take Rave to the vet's for a pregnancy check to confirm that we do indeed have puppies!
